Bathroom doors: swings, sliders and lost space
A door swing can consume a square metre of the room. In small bathrooms, changing the door is often the cheapest way to gain usable space.
The detail that matters
Rehanging to open outwards frees the internal floor, provided the landing or hallway can take the swing safely.
Pocket and sliding doors free the most space, but need wall depth and a track that will not rattle within a year.
