If it is the only bathroom in the house, keep a bath. Resale expectations and small children both point the same way; a shower over the bath adds the speed.
What flooring stands up best?
Large-format porcelain or a good quality LVT with welded joints. Both handle standing water and spilt shampoo far better than laminate.
