Noisy shower pumps and what the noise means
Pumps make noise, but a change in noise is the useful signal. Rattles, whines and cavitation each point somewhere different.
What to check
- Cavitation, a harsh gravelly sound, usually
- means the pump is not receiving enough water on the inlet side.
- Vibration transmitted through the floor is
- often solved by mounting on anti-vibration feet and using flexible connections.
