When limescale has finished off a shower valve
What actually fixes it
- A thermostatic cartridge is a serviceable part on many valves
- so replacing the cartridge rather than the whole valve is often the cheaper and less destructive route.

Sometimes, by soaking in a descaler, but a cartridge that has already started juddering rarely returns to reliable temperature control.
Why does the temperature swing when another tap is used?
