Garage floors sit lower than the house and often have no damp-proof continuity. That, plus drainage depth, drives the whole bathroom design in a converted garage.

Can a WC go in a garage conversion?
Usually yes, but the invert level of the nearest drain decides whether it is gravity or pumped.
Does the floor have to be raised?
Often the finished floor is raised to meet the house level and take insulation, which then affects door heights and thresholds.
What we look at first
- The existing slab rarely has the insulation or damp-proof membrane a habitable room needs
- so the floor build-up is decided before any fitting position is fixed.
- Drainage can often gravity-run to an existing gully or inspection chamber outside
- worth confirming levels before committing to a WC position.
- Cold external walls need insulating and a vapour-controlled finish
- otherwise the new bathroom becomes the coldest, dampest room in the house.
